Program Description:
The Foundation provides funding for nursing scholarships for Fort Bend County residents obtaining a Second Degree Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) degree from the University of Houston – Sugar Land. The Second Degree bachelors program is a twelve-month, intensive, full-time program for people holding bachelor’s or master’s degrees in other fields who want to become registered nurses (RNs).
Award Amount:
20 scholarships of up to $3,600 each.
To Be Eligible, Applicants Must:
- be accepted into the University of Houston – Sugar Land School of Nursing’s Second Degree BSN program
- be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident
- be a Fort Bend County resident
- be able to demonstrate financial need
- be enrolled full time
- have a minimum transfer GPA of 3.0
Deadline:
Applications must be postmarked by December 1st to the University of Houston Sugar Land School of Nursing.
Notification Period:
Applicants will be notified by the University of Houston – Sugar Land School of Nursing.

The Second Degree BSN Scholarship program is administered by the University of Houston – Sugar Land School of Nursing. Scholarship recipients are not selected by The George Foundation Trustees or Staff. Please do not mail application packets to The George Foundation.
